Project context

The topic of the project addresses the main challenges that European youth face:

  • discrimination and social exclusion of marginalized groups;
  • youth unemployment;
  • lack of tolerance and intercultural understanding;

These conflicts that challenge human rights in European societies. Thus, the project will be an opportunity for youth to spend time together to share views, fears, concerns, ideas for improvement and to come up with proposals to fill the gaps in both local communities and at European level. Participants will also develop skills and experience in social campaigning. This is relevant skill nowadays for young people since it helps to break up barriers for public performance, public speaking, group and teamwork, leading and planning.

Aim and objectives

The project aims on the empowerment of young people to participate and speak about the human rights including the right to life, liberty, work, education and free speech.

Objectives:

  • Personal development in a campaign: at preparation, implementation, evaluation and reflection;
  • Activities to strengthen the dynamic of speech and the ability to share opinions in the group;
  • Promotion of teamwork, collaboration, active participation and social skills;
  • Promotion of common understanding, multicultural dialogue & activism of young people on local, regional, national and international level.

Participants profile

The youth exchange brings together 55 participants and 8 group leaders from 8 countries. During the mobility the leaders will coordinate workshops together with the participants.

Be You Association selects 6 young people (3 girls and 3 boys) aged between 18-30 who are interested in the project topic and motivated to participate actively for the entire duration of the youth exchange and get involved in follow-up activities.

Participants will have to prepare:

  • Website with daily blog
  • Videos & Photos
  • Social-media content
  • Campaigns and Interviews in town
  • Follow-up activities

The volunteers of Be You Association and young people from Dambovita have priority in selection.

Costs:

Transport costs are covered by the participants and reimbursed after the youth exchange ends.
Travel costs for participants from Romania are reimbursed within the limit of 275 euros.
