CYCLECEPTION

Cycleception is an international youth exchange that takes place within the Erasmus+ programme.

The project will involve young people from Romania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Italy, Macedonia and Turkey.

PROJECT CONTEXT

The project aims to increase the number of young cyclists by improving mechanical knowledge and safe riding skills. At the same time, the project aims to make young people aware of the benefits of using a bicycle on health, the environment and the economy.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

To develop knowledge and skills in bicycle mechanics, maintenance and repair;

To teach the right choice of bicycle and safety equipment;

To teach the basics of safe driving and to encourage safe driving;

To raise awareness about the benefits of cycling for mental and physical health;

To teach the contribution to the economy with the decrease in non-renewable energy consumption as a result of bicycle use;

To provide an environment of inclusion for young people with fewer opportunities.

METHODOLOGY

The activities are based on formal and nonformal education.

These methods include: world cafe, interactive workshops, question-answer, presentation, role model initiatives, storytelling, practical workshops, tournament, name and mimic, secret friend, mixed group work, presentations, video screenings, city bingo, study visit, energizers etc.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Each partner organization will be represented by 5 participants and 1 group leader. Participants must be interested in indoor and outdoor sports activities.

Two of the participants must have minimal or no cycling skills.

Age of participants: 18-25 years.

COSTS

Transport costs are covered by the participants and reimbursed after the youth exchange.

Travel costs for participants from Romania are reimbursed within the limit of 180 euros.

A passport is required to enter the Republic of Turkey.
